Your Child Can Open a Roth IRA

If you're child works, consider encouraging them to use some of their earnings to open a Roth IRA.  All that is needed to open a Roth IRA and contribute to is is having some earned income for the year. As long as a child has earned income, there is no minimum age to open a Roth IRA. Specifically, for 2012 your child can contribute the lesser of: (1) earned income or (2) ,000.

Encouraging your child to open a Roth IRA is a great addition to their financial education and future.
